Agents of Change

I am so excited to facilitate in the next SAYWF. For me the 2010 SAYWF transformed me from a mere passenger in the world to an active participant in change and an agent of change for young women. My interests in young women has moved further from their representation in movements to their control of their lives and ownership of their destinies. This enables them have an agenda to put forth in movements as well as actively participate in creating change. This means young women are no longer in the back seat, or side seat but in the driver’s seat, creating change for themselves and people around them. However, to sustain this active participation, we must learn to share experiences, be creative, develop one another and learn from others with more experience in order for us to keep the wheels of change moving and pass it on to others who can also begin or participate in transforming the world and creating a permanent space, and an ear for young women today.
